The other day I received some persimmons in my Instacart delivery but I didn’t order them. I honestly forgot how beautiful they were and it reminded me of a time when my Mom used to give them to my sisters and I when we were very young. That’s how long it had been since I had one so I treated it like a gift and nestled them into a simple pastry crust. Their flavor is very distinct and I didn’t want to mask it with heavy ingredients. I tossed them in cinnamon and a little sugar and when the pastry was done I drizzled it with honey.
